This is a community project working in partnership with funders from the private sector and Safer Neighbourhood Board, the programme will operate as an ‘umbrella’ programme aligning and supporting its member organisations. At its heart will be an innovative partnership comprising the Community Foundations from leading local sporting organisations – Brentford Football Club Community Sport Trust, Harlequins Foundation, and the Richmond Rugby Community Group.

The combined offer of the Foundations will be supplemented by projects and initiatives delivered by local VCS organisations and charities, local and national businesses, local education centres.

The effectiveness of the programme will be increased through the deployment of trained, street-based community volunteers. Thirty trained volunteers will be deployed to areas of the borough to engage with young people and to discuss key risks (e.g., gang affiliation, knife carrying etc), to signpost them to support services within the programme or provided by partners, and to offer initial one-to-one street-based mentoring, coaching, and promoting positive alternatives to those risks.
