Would you like to join Sanya Walker-Batson's network of Parent Champions?

Each day I am humbled by the generosity of our Parent Champion volunteers, the diversity, wealth and breadth of knowledge they bring to enhance AfC’s children’s services, and share freely and willingly, to the most vulnerable families in the community.

I am proud to share an article written by one of our Richmond Parent Champion volunteers, Sam Delaney. You can read the article here: 'Seven ways you can help your teen with their mental health - from school to saying no'.*

Sam wears many hats and, amongst a great deal of other things cerebral, has recently trained as a Parent Carer Champions Network volunteer to become a Talking Teens Parenting Programme facilitator. He will be delivering the very first local community parenting course in a local school in Mortlake in the summer term, alongside a few other Parent Champions who welcomed the opportunity to take part in the facilitator training on offer, enhance their knowledge and contribute to the wider community of parents.

This is just one example of what Parent Champion volunteers do when donating their time.

We are now looking for 20 new Parent Champions in Kingston and Richmond to start in September 2024. Would you like to be one? Do you have a minimum of two hours a month to give to your local community of parents?

We will provide you with all the necessary training, oodles of fun and engagement with a wide network of like-minded people.

If you're interested, please get in touch with me for an informal chat: [email protected] or call 07761 448348.
